Adaptation in 2 White

In 2 White, we have been exploring how different animals have adapted and the reasons for this. In this session, we carried out three short investigations:

A thumb experiment – We taped our thumb and fore finger together and explored what tasks we could carry out and what we would need to do to adapt to our surroundings. We learnt that having thumbs helps us carryout many tasks around school.

A camouflage experiment – We drew a picture of an animal and identified areas within the classroom where they could camouflage. We thought about their habitats and the reasons why camouflage is important to animals.

Blubber experiment – Looked at how animals with a layer of blubber can survive in cold temperatures.

Have a look at some of our pictures.
