    1) Habib is right because when we add 10 to any ones – then ones stay the same.
    For example: 1 + 10 + 11 , 5 + 10 = 15 and 78 + 10 = 88

    Isla is correct because she has 32p and 7 x 10 = 70
    70 + 32 = 102
    So she has £1.02 altogether

She is right she has 2p more then £1.
    7p × 10= 70p
    70p + 32p = 102p
    102p = £1.02

Bronze the numbers can be 40 to 49 because they have four tens and the
numbers that cannot be are the other numbers because they do not have four tens. Silver Jessica has the greatest number because 9 is more than 7. Gold, he is wrong because when you say a number like 31,32,33, the ones are changing. Platinum she is right because if she had 10p coins that would be 70p.

BRONZE: 40,41,42. Numbers it can not be 10, 20, 30.

SILVER: Jessica has the highest number because 9 is bigger than 7.

GOLD: Habib is wrong because it depends on what number you add ten to. For example if you add 10 to 1 then you get 11. But if you add 10 to 5 you get 15.

PLATINUM: She is right because she has 102p. This is more than 100 which is a pound.

    Platinum – Isla is right. She has more than £ 1. 7 x10p = 70 + 32 = 102p which is £1 and 2p.

Jessica has the largest amount because 29-27=2 so 29 has 2 ones more than 27.

    Gold.
Yes! Habib is right because the one stay the same as the 10s go higher such as 10+2=12,10+7=17, 10+9=19.

    Platinum.

    70+32=102p because she has 10 lots 10p 2 lots of ones =2p. So it’s £1.02p

    which is more than 1£

    Non-examples
    50,60,70

    Silver:
Jessica because she has 2 tens and nine ones which is ’29’.

    Gold:
Habit is correct because you don’t need to add any digit to the ones column because there is always a zero ( place holder ) in the ones column only for the number ten so if you add ten to any number for example 49 + 10 the answer will be 59 because your only adding to the tens column.

    Bronze
    45,47 and 40 all have 4 tens.
    32,92, and 52 all don’t have 4 tens.

    Silver
Jessica has the bigger number since 27 ones is the same as 27 and 2 tens and 9 ones is the same as 29. 29 is greater than 27 no matter how you make the number.

    Gold
Habib is correct because for example 12+10=22 and 22 has the same amount of ones as 12.

    Platinum
Isla is correct because she starts with 32p and 7 lots of 10= (7×10)70p. €1 is the same as 100p. So 32+70= 102p which equals €1.02 being over 1 pound.

    Alex’s number can be 41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49,40.
Alex can’t make 31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,30,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,20 and 10 because there are no 4 columns.
    Silver
Jessica has more ones than Faith because Jessica has more ones and they have the same tens. Faith only needed 3 ones to beat her.
    Gold
    Habib is right because 12+10=22 and 17 + 30 =47 so that’s why he’s correct.
    Platinum
Isla is correct because 10 times 7 is 70 and 70 + 32 is 102 so its more than 100. And 100 is 1p so she is correct.
