What mathematical things did you learn this week?
I have learnt about negative numbers and I have learnt some Chinese numbers.
What is something you learnt about a country you studied?
I have learnt that in Egypt they wanted to keep things simple when sculpting so they only used unit fractions.

I learnt that Liu Hui was an ancient Chinese mathematician that made an extremely accurate measurement of pi (3.14159…) and his was 3.1416. I also learnt that a megagon is a shape with a million (mega-) sides and looks like a circle, but has extremely small sides.

We learnt about different ancient mathematicians
    Greece – Pythagoras
    Egypt – Euclid
    India – Brahmagupta
    China- Lui Hui
Lui Hui was a Chinese mathematician who invented the number 0
Some Egyptians used to represent numbers and letters into symbols and the greatest number was represented as a god to show the god is worth greatest and the most. This shows that gods were very important in that time .
