Nursery Summer 2 – Week 1

This term we are learning all about ‘Travel’. During carpet time we discussed different modes of transport and places we had travelled to!

C&L – To sing a familiar song.

We learnt to sing the song ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. We all joined in and thought of our own sound effects and actions.

PSED – To share with others.

We used the sand to play with our friends at Nursery. Mrs Langley was cheeky and only put out a limited number of sand resources to play with. This meant that we had to take turns and share!

PD – To develop fine motor skills.

We used the laces and cotton reels to practice our small motor skills to make trains.

Mathematics – To select shapes appropriately.

We created our own 2D shape sandcastle pictures using shapes and paint. We developed our shape vocabulary when talking about the properties of shapes and began to compare.

Literacy – To develop phonetical awareness.

We match graphemes on the cars to the graphemes on the parking spaces. We read the graphemes as we went.

UW – We talked about transport from the past.

We looked at pictures showing modern transport and those used in the past. We talked about the similarities and differences we could see.

Phonics – we are all trying so hard to remember our taught phonemes and to write the graphemes to match.
