We are absolutely thrilled to welcome you and your little ones to Broad Heath as they begin their Reception journey with us! Starting school is a big milestone, and we’re here to support you and your child every step of the way.
To help ensure a smooth and happy start, we have a staggered transition plan in place for this week. Please take a moment to check the personalised letter you received during our transition day—it contains specific times for when your child should attend.
🗓 This Week’s Transition Schedule:
Wednesday 3rd September
We’ll be holding three one-hour “Stay and Play” sessions (please refer to your letter for personal timings).
This is a chance for you to:
- Stay with your child while they explore their new classroom
- Meet the friendly Reception team
- Ask any questions you may have
These sessions are designed to help your child settle in confidently, with you by their side.
Thursday 4th September
Your child will attend either a morning or afternoon session (as stated in your letter).
✅ Please drop your child at the classroom door where our staff will be ready to give them a warm welcome.
On this day, we kindly ask parents to say goodbye at the door so children can begin developing independence. We know this can be emotional, but rest assured—we will look after them as if they were our own.
Friday 5th September
Children will attend from 8:30am – 12:30pm.
🥪 They will stay for lunch!
If your child is having a packed lunch, please make sure it comes with them in the morning.
Pick-up will be at 12:30pm from the classroom door.
🔔 From Monday 8th September:
Reception children will attend full-time
🕣 Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:15pm
🧸 Reminders for a Great Start:
- School uniform must be worn each day
- Please send a labelled water bottle (filled with water only)
- A named bag with a full spare change of clothes is essential in case of little accidents
