Reception transition to Year 1

We’re pleased to share that, for the first half term, Reception parents will be welcome to walk their children into school each morning as part of supporting their transition into Year 1.

We know that moving up to Year 1 is a big step, and this approach will help children build early relationships with their new teachers, feel more familiar with their new learning spaces, and give you as parents an opportunity to see where your children will be spending their days.

Further information and support around the transition to Year 1 will be shared at the Year 1 welcome meeting in September, where we’ll focus in more detail on how we can work together to help your child settle confidently into their new year group.
