What was your favourite part about this week?
My favourite part of this week was doing drawings of leaves.
What experiments did you do, and what were your findings?
First, we collected some leaves and put them in a jug. Then, we added some hot water. After that, we added some alcohol and watched as the alcohol drained the chlorophyll out of the leaves. By the end, there was no green colour left in the leaf.

1)my favourite part about maths science week was survival day because we used a range of skills and we took part in activities. For example roasting bananas with chocolate chips. Also we created the shelters out of lollipop sticks and paper that we cut into the shape of leaves.
2)We conducted to experiments they were do children with longer legs run faster and what materials could you use to filter dirty water from the first experiment we concluded leg size does not impact your speed but weight does impact speed. From the second experiment we concluded that cotton fabric and sawdust can filter your water not all the way but it can take the mud out.
    3) The exciting thing that we learnt is that oobleck is very similar to quicksand

  6. My favourite part of this week was on Friday when we did our experiments and shown them to different classes.
We did an experiment when we dropped two bottles at the same time and
one with an amount of half a bottle of water and one with no water and seeing if they will drop and land at the same time and they did not depending on the weight it depends on air resistance

My favourite thing about this week was using the data logger.
The experiment was that we had to use the data logger to see which material was more opaque My finding was that the cling film was the worst and the felt was the best.
    Everything was fun.

    1. What was your favourite part about this week?
My favourite part was survival day.

What experiments did you do, and what were your findings?
The first experiment we conducted was ‘Do children with longer legs run faster?’ From our finding, we now know that it depends on your weight and size. The next experiment we conducted was ‘Can you filter water with different materials?’ The equipment we used includes of: 1 sock, saw dust, fabric and cotton. We used all of the items in our group. The big chunks of mud came out but the water still had a light brown colour (it was translucent). Even if our water came out clear it would have still had germs and bad bacteria. If I was in the Amazon stranded I would boil it to take the germs out.

    3. Did you learn anything exciting?
I learnt about superfoods and how to survive on a certain diet in the Amazon if I was stranded and lost.

  12. Ryan I.

My experiments was when he and my group got to fill a sock with sawdust and grass that was the natural one but the man made one was when we got put cloth and fabric our findings were that the natural one came out better than the man-made one.

I learnt the size of the Amazon rainforest and I found that really imteresting.

My favourite part of this week is when we learnt about genetics and did the maths trail around the school.

  14. Serina I.

What was your favourite part about this week?
My favourite part was when we used a data logger to find out how much light goes through cotton , polyester , plastic bag , felt and lace.
What experiments did you do, and what were your findings?
Are experiments were when we had to find out what material was good for Jacks curtains. My findings were that felt was the best because it lets in 1.3% of light.
    Did you learn anything exciting?
I’ve learnt that shadows change direction and length because of the sun.

Also my favourite bit was when we had the fashion show

  15. Jebrin Y.

My favourite part was the floating experiment. I floated objects and found out plastic can float on water. I learnt what floats or sinks. I know that if something’s heavy it will sink. A spoon sinks because it’s heavy and it is made of metal.

What experiment did you do, and what were your findings?
we did ‘ Do children with longer legs run faster or wit shorter legs’
My findings were that it depends on the health of your body
    Did you learn anything exciting?
I know that a kneecap is called patella.

    1. My favourite parts were the science experiment and the survival day.
    2. One of the experiments that we did was different types of water to make
it drinkable. My findings was the natural water was the one that was clear.
    3. I learnt how get out quicksand correctly. Quicksand is when a lot of

One of the experiments we did was ‘do children with longer legs run faster’
We found out that it does not matter about leg length but your fitness and diet.

We learnt how to survive in a rainforest and what to eat. The dangers of the rainforest can be: AVOID bright colours, Quicksand and predators.

2.What experiments did you do, and what were your findings?
We used a data logger to see how much light passes through different materials. Our findings was that the polyester was the most opaque and the clear plastic was the most transparent.
    3.Did you learn anything exciting?
We learned that the moon is not producing its own light, it is actually reflecting the sun’s light to make it shine.
