During science week, I learnt about global warming, climate change and the effect it has on Antarctica and the Antarctic. Also I have learnt that if we do not do much to reduce climate change and global warming it will not only damage our ecosystem but it will also be dangerous towards our health and reduce in food and vital resources. I mostly enjoyed creating an igloo out of ice which was quite a difficult challenge but was very fun! One more thing we found out is that another ice age can occur as a result of small changes within the Earth’s solar radiation system which might cause an ice age and that if there are too many toxic green-house gases within the atmosphere this might reduce an ice age from ever happening!

We have been learning about light in Year 3 and my favorite activity was when we created the northen lights.
We had to use pastels and a paper towel because the paper towel is what we were smudging with and we also used a black paper.

Science Week was amazing. I loved experimenting with the journey of sound. vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person’s of sound. I learnt the main definition of sound- Sound is vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person’s ear.

In Year 3, we have been learning about light. We read a book about the magic sky. And then we used our pastel and smudging skills to create the northen lights. You can see the northen lights at: Finland, Norway, Sweden, Maybe Russia, Scotland and Iceland.
My Favourite activity was smudging and making the Northen Lights.

Throughout science week I found out that despite current global warming, an ice age could be likely to happen in millions or maybe even billions of years… if humans wouldn’t go extinct by then! My favourite activity was working in the SOLE group and creating amazing factfiles and posters about the statistics of global warming and what damage it has already caused on Earth. 🌍 🌎 🌏
