Science Week ~Thursday ~3 Blue

Today children learnt all about the importance of keeping our bodies healthy including our skeletons. They came up with fantastic ideas of eating balanced diet and learnt about the importance of the different food groups including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. They also gave some good examples of the food groups with confidence. It was pleasing to hear so many children eating fruit and vegetables and making healthy food choices for their bodies and brain. Children then learnt about the diets of different animals and how this helps them to survive. Children also identified that there are some similarities with animals and humans and mentioned key words like omnivore, carnivore and herbivore.

Which animal will live the longest and why?

    The animal which will live longer is a tiger because the tiger might have a chance by getting the most of the food because tigers are faster than the bad and the panda. So they will live longer because they will have more food and the food let them live longer.

    I think Lions will live the longest because if any predator came and wanted to kill it Lions would be ready for attack and the other animals is not as strong as the tigerl

    Lions and tigers are carnivores because they only eat meat, elephants eat fruit vegetables and root and grass and they are herbivores. I am omnivore because I eat chicken and I eat fruit, vegetables and rice.

    And he only eat meat. Tiger is a carnivore but the elephant is herbivorous.
