Today children learnt all about the importance of keeping our bodies healthy including our skeletons. They came up with fantastic ideas of eating balanced diet and learnt about the importance of the different food groups including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. They also gave some good examples of the food groups with confidence. It was pleasing to hear so many children eating fruit and vegetables and making healthy food choices for their bodies and brain. Children then learnt about the diets of different animals and how this helps them to survive. Children also identified that there are some similarities with animals and humans and mentioned key words like omnivore, carnivore and herbivore.
