STEAM Week in 5 White

Another wonderful project week in year 5. The children have been so enthusiastic and tenacious in trying new skills within the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.

It’s been fantastic to see their watercolour skills developing in art, leading their own investigation in science and certainly their flamenco dance skills!

We’ve based our learning around Spanish fans. This will link well to our geography unit this half term.
Watch our video to see what we’ve been doing.

Which discipline have you enjoyed most this week (science, technology, engineering, arts or maths) and why?

What have you learnt this week?

What would happen if there was no air resistance?

Wow, it looks like you had lots of fun year 5 learning about and making different types of fans. Fab video of your learning across the whole week! What did you learn during STEAM week?

Which discipline have you enjoyed most this week (science, technology, engineering, arts or maths) and why?
I have enjoyed science the most because it was fun when we were making the fans with circuits.
What have you learnt this week?
I have learnt how to make an electric fan using wires and motors.
What would happen if there was no air resistance?
If there was no air resistance all objects would fall at the same time no matter how heavy or light it is.
