What were the cures for the Black Death?
There were different types of cures for the Bubonic Plague. One of the know cure was urine. People bathed in urine as they believed the toxic acids would defeat their buboes. Even if they did the human would still die from embracing to much toxic acids from urine. Many believed this was a punishment from God so the Lords Prayer was very important. They prayed for forgiveness from God. Smelling herbs and dry flowers ( aromatherapy) was a big cure they believed in as doctors believed the Black Death would travel through scent. Smelling Herbs and dry flowers help them to not be able to smell the toxic scent. A cure called the Four Thieves Vinegar was unusually common. People would pour this over their cuts ands wound in order to prevent it form happening any worser. Poultice was a famous cure made from plants, soil and poo. They rubbed this on their boils to prevent any worse to happen.

    2. What are your opinions on these cures?
My opinion on the cures is that urine would not be good as your body will absorb the toxic liquids and you will die due to intoxication. Poultice would be disgusting as it is made form poo.

    3. What can we understand about medicine during this period of time, compared to now?

People during that time period did not have much education. Therefore they were not able to find the exact cure. Nowadays we have medicine such as paracetamol, ibuprofen and more. Back then they used homemade remedies. Nowadays people do use homemade remedies for certain reasons such as honey and black pepper. People use this for many situations. When having a bad cough, honey and black pepper helps reduce your cough. People at that time period did not have technology to identify ans illnesses neither viruses or disease.

    1) The cures for the Black Death symptoms were to bathe in pee and to cover themselves in Aromatherapy (smelling herbs and flowers). Inhaling/drinking vinegar – with dried herbs/flowers – would cure them.
    2) My opinion on these cures were that all of tem are quite gross as they didn’t have many modern advanced doctors with the right equipment, and had to use natural resources (pee, poo, vinegar and flowers)
    3) Medicine compared from then to now was a really big difference as now they have upgraded machines, x-ray, torches, plugged machines. Whereas then, they had natural resources and less money, only the rich could afford more advanced resources.

    What are cures?
A paste made form plant, soil and poo-people would rub this over their boils and wounds in hope to cure themselves.
    Aromatherapy: smelling herbs and flowers.
Urine: when the victims are dead they put the Urine on the body.
Lord prayer: As people where passing away they where praying so they don’t die.
    2.
My opinion on the cures they are all different and some I don’t understand.
    3.
The cures from the Black Death are really different for the we have different things we have to do tests to check if we have the virus.

    1)What were the cures?
In the 1347 – 1350 outbreak, doctors were completely unable to prevent or cure the plague. ‘Blood-letting’ – deliberately bleeding a vein – was a way of reducing ‘hot’ blood, whilst blowing your nose or clearing your throat was a way of getting rid of too much ‘cold’ phlegm. Mustard, mint sauce, apple sauce and horseradish were used to balance wet, dry, hot and cold in your diet.Cures for the debilitating disease was many. For example, some would be remedies such as ‘four thieves vinegar ‘, bathing in urine.
2)My opinions on these cures are that some of them are abhorrent like wash in urine or soil however they smelled dirty.
3)I absorb that plague doctors wasn’t executive nor had lofty education in the olden times.

    1) What were the cures?

The cures of The Bubonic Plague (known as The Black Death) were the following things: Urine; many victims of the Plague would often bathe in the urine too, Poultice; this was made by plants, soil and poo, many people would rub this over their boils, hoping it would cure them, Four thieves vinegar; this was mixed with vinegar, garlic and herbs, the victims of the Black Death would often pour this on their cuts and wounds and the last cure was Aromatherapy; aromatherapy was when people would smell herbs and flowers, hoping it would cure them.

    2) What are your opinion on the cures?
    —————————————————
My opinion on the cures was that they smelt terrible like when victims would bathe in urine and that they’d rub poultice on the boils (this was mixed with poo) and that the four thieves vinegar tasted absolutely revolting.

    3) What can we understand about medicine during this period of time, compared to now?
    —————————
During this period of time, the medieval era didn’t have a high understanding of the Black Death and not many doctors were very much professional, many children had parents losing their lives, it was more likely to spread amongst the peasants more than the noblemen as peasants had small proportions of food and the rich had large quantities of food for them, whereas now, we have many cures for different types of sicknesses/ diseases and doctors have a very high understanding of the types of symptoms a sickness can have, a cough, flu and etc. The symptoms we have now aren’t that terrifying, however, many members of the public that DID get the BlackDeath would have many boils around them, they were very weak that they weren’t able to get up and we’re forced to stay in bed, they’d also vomit out blood, and wouldn’t survive for much longer…

    What were the cures?
One popular cure was urine. A remedie such as Four thieves vinegar. It was known that the people then had prayed for the disease to go away and for the cure to save their society. Unfortunately hey werent here to know their prayers came true.
What is your opinion on these cures?
Well, I personally think urine isnt a good idea to cure, it coildve saved people from the black death but the urine would still kill them from intoxication.
Medicine difference between now and then:
Back then they had no technology or proper medicine liquids like we do today.

    What were the cures???

The cures (remedies) for this life ending disease was ‘four thieves vinegar’, ‘dried flowers and herbs’, ‘urine’ – which they bathed in- or ‘Poultice’.

What is your opinion on these cures?

My opinion is that these cures are quite gross as they bathed in urine and covered there buboes in Poultice which apparently has poo inside. 🤮🤢😵

What can we understand about medicine during this period of time, compared to now?

I understand that since this was the medieval period people were not professional doctors or had high education of this debilitating disease.
