This term we are continuing to focus on our main topic โLiving and Growingโ. This week we focused on โThe Life Cycle Of A Butterflyโ
We started this week looking at a very famous story during our carpet time. โThe Very Hungry Caterpillarโ written by Eric Carle.
We then looked at the life cycle of the butterfly through flash cards. The children were later re-tested on these and asked to put the life cycle in order as independently as they could.
We explored the life cycle of a butterfly through playdough. We even made green caterpillars and butterflies out of our home made salt dough๐คฉ๐
During our mark marking session, we created caterpillars out of paint and toilet roll holders. We then furthered our enhancement of our fine and gross motor skills by creating caterpillars out of pipe cleaners. After, this we got messy and created little butterflies from our handprints and sponges.
EXCITING NEWS – in The Hive, we have got real caterpillars growing. We will observe these closely and watch how they will eventually turn into a butterfly๐ฆ.
Have a look below at our amazing week!
