Week 4 in Reception Blue

We have had another busy week where the children have learnt lots and gained. We have continued with our topic of Living and Growing’ and this week our focus has been caterpillars and butterflies. Wednesday was World Numeracy when we challenged ourselves to investigate numbers to 10 in greater depth. Please take a look at our fantastic learning and leave a comment to explain your favourite part of the week and why.😊

Understanding of the World- To explore the natural world by talking about caterpillars and butterflies

PSED – To understand and appreciate our similarities and differences

Communication & Language – To talk about the character of a story

Expressive Art & Design – To make a symmetrical butterfly using 2D shapes

Literacy – To write about the life cycle of a butterfly

SMSC. – To understand the meaning of the story ‘Muhammad and the Thirsty Cat’

SEAL– To understand that a community can be made up of different sorts of people

On Friday afternoon we had ’Stay and Play’. It was lovely to see so many parents come in. 😊

Today was Nycolas’s birthday. 🎂He very kindly bought in lots of chocolates for the children to have. Thank you Nycolas and Happy Birthday from us all.😊👏🎉
