Well-being Day in 4 Red

Today in 4 Red, we have been looking at a variety of different topics and some of them we have already learnt throughout the year. We started the day revisiting our coding topic from last term. This was really fun as the children were able to show how much they had learnt from last term, but also use Micro:bits to show how they can code.

Afterwards, we took part in some Active Maths activities, which mainly focused on times tables. The children started off with a game of ‘Champion’, which they all loved and were very engaged in. Then, we finished the lesson with a game of times tables bingo! The winner of the bingo was Eva T!!

In the afternoon, we discussed the importance of our mental health and well-being. We looked at the signs of a positive mental health and well-being compared to a more negative one. This educated the children on how they can help those who are suffering from poor mental health and well-being by looking out for certain signs. These signs could even be present within themselves, so it was a very important topic to cover with the children on Well-being day.

At the end of the day, we rounded everything off with a lesson about how Christians celebrate Easter. The children were asked to draw their own puppets for their very own Stop motion animation of the events of Easter. Once this was completed, the children were given time to create their own celebration cards for whatever occasion they wanted to, such as Eid, Ramadan, Easter and even a card just to say ‘Thank you’ to those that they care for.

What did you learn about Easter?

Which activity did you enjoy the most and why?

How did you use animation to recreate the Easter events?
