World Book Day in 4 Blue 📖📚

We had an absolutely fantastic time on World Book Day!

In Year 4, we focused on George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. First, we read part of the story to see all the weird and wonderful things that George put into his replacement medicine for his grandmother. Then we helped put together our own batch of medicine!

Next, we imagined we were George and wrote a diary entry about putting together the medicine, thinking about all the different ingredients we could add from different parts of the house.

After that, we focused a little more on Grandma. After reading various extracts from the book, we used our inference skills to describe her personality and made character profiles of what she could have been like as a little girl, imagining what could have happened to make her so nasty to poor George!

Finally, we discussed onomatopoeia and the different sounds we might hear while making a marvellous medicine. We made artwork using these words, inspired by Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement. We loved making bright, bold patterns using the primary colours.

But of course, the best part of the day was seeing everybody’s amazing costumes!

    I would put hair colour gum that is chewed, tooth paste, spice, salt and vinegar

    I would put paracetamol in my medicine because it is medicine.

    I would put soap,perfume and just 3 drops of✨ gasoline ✨.Onomatopoeia is when you write down a word based on the sound it makes ✨e.g An explosion would make a 💥KA-BOOM💥 sound✨
    My favourite activity was when we made the ⚡POP⚡ art.🎨🎨

    I would put card,📜,expired bread and milk 🍞🥛🤮,brown paint🖌️🎨,lipstick 💄and ,finally animal droppings 🙊,which is GROSS!🤮

    My favourite activity we did was the onomatopoeia painting we did because we could use our imagination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I would put rotten tomatoes 🍅 ,cat and dog food 🥘and coco cola.

    My favorite part of world book day is the pop art and the posters of what we thought what George grandma was like when she was little.

    I would put……
    Expired milk,raw egg,cabbage,brown paint,hot sauce,ketchup and potato.

    What was your favourite activity from World Book Day?
    My favourite activity was make the most disgusting medicine for George’s Grandma and write a diary entry.

    I would put animals dropping, moldy burger, milk , mayonnaise,ketchup and chilli powder.💯💥🤯🤢🤮😭🥵

      I would put fish , eggs,bleech,flash, soup anf everything in the house. Onomatopoeia is a sound e.g. boom and crash.

    For example onomatopoeia means when ur adding something in a sentence like pop plop sizzle whack.

    1) In my marvelous medicine, I would put lots of revolting things such as animal droppings 🐶, out of date juice 🧃, moldy bread 🍞🤮and a large amount of chilly pepper to make Grandma’s mouth burn 🌶🔥.
