World Down Syndrome Day at Broad Heath

We want all our children to be valued and included in the communities in which we live, to have the choice to attend their local mainstream school and when old enough to work; not to encounter barriers, but instead to be welcomed and embraced within society. Today at Broad Heath we learnt all about Down Syndrome and how we can show our vlaues towards everyone. Kindness, Respect and Brilliance towards all no matter what their difference was our main teach today.

Here are some of the amazing activites we took part in today.

    Down Syndrome!
Down Syndrome is a condition where a person is born with an extra chromosome, it is like a special present, and it makes them a bit different. They can still do activities like playing games but it takes them a little bit of extra time to learn. But that’s ok, they are just like us!

    -Baby herbie is so cute!

Baby Herbie and I have had a lovely day celebrating World Down Syndrome Day. Little Herbie gave out bubbles at his baby class and we went to a coffee morning.
It’s so great to hear that you have been learning about Down Syndrome and how amazing some of the children who have Down Syndrome are.

I was helping out with the Easter egg hunt so I didn’t get to learn about Down syndrome.
But I do know Down syndrome is a disability.

I enjoyed it a lot and I learnt that people with down syndrome can still win medals and sport trophies. But that they can also drive but.only if they have their driving license. But also can be swimming winners for a race. Although they can be working too Alternatively they still can be married as well and that all dosent matter anyways. And can have children too.
