Y1 Home Learning Expectations

Dear Parents,

At BH, we are committed to ensuring the very best for every child. In Year 1, there are a few key activities we kindly ask you to support at home. Even the smallest efforts you make can have a big impact on your child’s progress and confidence in school.

Please make sure your child reads their book every day—even just one page makes a difference—and remember to sign their reading diary each time.
Aim for at least four reading sessions per week. Children who reach this target could be our reading champions! Check out Mrs. Morris’s blog post here: How often do you read? – Broad Heath Primary School
Support your child by regularly visiting the Phonics Homework Blog. Weekly videos are uploaded to help prepare them for the upcoming Phonics Screening Check. There are only a few weeks to go—let’s keep up the momentum!

Hamaad reads his book everyday and I’m satisfied with his reading. He does his phonic practice every day also.
