Y1 Trip to the Hindu Temple – REMINDER

Hi Year 1!

After half term, we will be performing a Diwali assembly. To help us learn a little more about the Hindu religion and the celebration itself, we will be visiting the Hindu Temple on Stoney Stanton Road on Thursday 24th October.

It is only a very short walk from our school. We will be leaving around 9am and we will return by 10:30.

On this day, children are invited to wear traditional Indian/Asian outfits. If you do not have anything similar, you can wear any special clothes! If you are having any troubles with this, just let your child’s teacher know and we will be happy to help!

This experience will also support our learning in SMSC. This half term we have been learning what it means to live well together and what guides other to do so. We have been exploring how different people express their worldviews and how people live out their values.

At Broad Heath, the British Values of ‘Mutual Respect’ and ‘Tolerance of different religions and faiths’ are very important to us! We are so proud to have such a diverse community where everybody is valued. We learn so much from each other!

If any parents would like to attend, please comment on this blog and speak to your child’s teacher.

Thank you!

Miss Smith
