Year 7 Induction

Our 3-day induction takes place on Wednesday 6^th July, Thursday 7^th July and Friday 8^th July. Students should come to the Sidney Stringer Academy reception [not go to their primary school first] between 8.30 – 8.40 am wearing their normal primary uniform. Halal food and drink will be provided for the students free on these Induction Days. Students will be free to leave by themselves at 2.50 pm; if you wish to collect students, please arrange this with them and come to the playground to meet them via the Cox St or Vine St gates at 2.50pm. If students are leaving with siblings, they will meet on the seats outside the theatre.  

Activities Week 

Activities Week for new Year 7 students will run from Monday July 25^th to Friday July 29^th 9.00 – 2.30 and will be for Year 7 only. Places cost £10. To join us, please use the link here or on our website https://forms.gle/VVFKJQLfRiM1uwLT8. Places must be booked and paid for by July 15^th. 

Start of term arrangements 

Monday 5^th September – Staff Training Day [no students in school]. 

Tuesday 6th September – Progress Day. Your appointment with staff on will be in school and you will be sent a letter with your appointment time in the post in August. If there are any issues with the time, please let us know as it is important key information can be shared with you. Students need to be in full uniform. Wednesday 7th September – The first day of lessons; students to arrive between 8.30 – 8.40am. Students will finish school at 3.00pm

Uniform 

There is a separate attachment regarding uniform with this letter. We make no profit from uniform, as we want to make it as easy and affordable for you to purchase. We have high standards that we are proud of and we expect all of our students to dress smartly and wear the correct uniform.
