      She has £1.02

  13. Rumaysa K.

He is wrong because number 10 can’t be add to 61 as it will equal 71

    1. Mrs Browning

      Hello, Dyari.
      .
      **GOLD**
If I had 61 and I added 10 which column would change?

  18. Martyna Z.

Bronze I think the number is 42. I think the number is 46. I think the number is 49. it cant be 1 ,2,3. silver Jessica has a bigger number because she has 20 add 9 which is = to 29 yet faith has 20 add 7 which is = to 27. Gold Habib is correct because when you take tens away the number stays the same because the ones allways stay the same. Platium Isla is correct 32p add 70p = 102p pound 1.02.

  19. Kaiden M.

Bronze: It could be any of the 40’s, like 40, 42, or 41.
    It can’t be number’s like 10, 20, or 30 because they don’t have 4 tens
Silver: Jessica has more because 29 is bigger than 27.
Gold: He is probably right because the one is added to the tens column and the zero is added to the ones column, so the ones will stay the same.
Platinum: She is right. 3+7 is 10 and 30+70 is 100 (which is £1) and she still has two pennies left, so she has more than £1.

  20. Kaiden M.

Bronze: It could be any of the 40’s, like 40, 42, or 41
    Silver: It can’t be number’s like 10, 20, or 30 because they don’t have 4 tens
Gold: He is probably right because the one is added to the tens column and the zero is added to the ones column, so the ones will stay the same.
Platinum: She is right. 3+7 is 10 and 30+70 is 100 (which is £1) and she still has two pennies left, so she has more than £1.

  21. Jeremiah K.

    40, 42, 45
    can’t be 20,25,50

    Silver
Jessica has the most money, she has 29 her amount is large 2p more and faith has only 27 which is less.

    Gold
Habib is right number 10 when added always stays the same for example 10×10=100

    Platinum
    32p + 7p x 10p = 102p
    32p + 70p = 102p
she does have more than £1 just by 2p more.

      Maths
      Bronze :
Numbers that have 4tens could be :
      40-41-42
      It could not be :
50-51-52 because these numbers have 5 tens.

      Silver :
Jessica has the largest number because she has 29.
      27 is smaller than 29.

      Gold :
Habib is right because 10 has a zero as ones. Any ones plus zero is ones.
For example 10+19=29 the Colomn of ones did not change because 9+0=9

      Platinum :
Isla because she had 32p then she had 7 lots of 10p which is 70p.
      Although 70p +32p= 102p
      1pound is 100p
Isla has now £1 and 2p.

  22. Hadi A.

    Bronze
    the numbers could be 40, 50, 60
the numbers it cant be 10, 11, 31

    silver
jesicca has the largest , she has 2 more that faith

  23. Ayaad H.

    Bronze
    Number which has four tens – 41, 46, 45
    It cannot be – 26 ,32 ,51
    Silver
    Faith has 2 tens and 7 ones=27
    Jessica has 2 tens and 9 ones=29
27 < 29 because both number has 2 tens, but Jessica number has 9 in ones which is greater then 7.
    Gold
    12+10=22
    15+10=25
    61+10=71
10 has 0 in ones place, therefore when added to any number then ones remain the same 12+30=42 other numbers are 20,30,40.
    Platinum
    Isla has 32p
    7×10= 70 p
    70 +32 = 102p
    100p+ 2p
    100p is equal to £1
    Isla has 32p +70p=102p which is equal to £1 and 2 p.

    1. Mrs Browning

      Great work, Ayaad!

  24. Sumaya T.

    Bronze:
    a) the numbers could be 40, 41, 42 (40-49)
    b) 30, 31, 32 (0-39)

    Silver:
Jessica has the bigger number because 20 tens add 9 ones = 29 which is larger than 27 ones (faiths number)

    Gold:
Habib is right because if you add ten to any number its always the tens column that changes and not the ones column.

    Platinum:
Isla has more than £1 for her birthday because 32p +70p+ 102p which is £1 and 2p. There is also 100p (10 tens) in a pound.

  25. Maryam K.

    Bronze
Anything between 40 and 49 will contain a maximum of 4 tens and not more or less
    Silver
Faith has 27 and Jessica has 29 so Jessica has 2 more
    Gold
Yes he is right because for example if we add 10 to any number like 15+10 is 25 so 5 ones stay the same
    Platinum
Isla has 32p add 70p from birthday so she has 102pence which is same as 1 pound and 2p

    1. Mrs Browning

      Great explanations, Maryam.

  26. Zayan J.

    Platium
    Yes because 70p + 32p =102p. So it makes 1pounds and 2p.

the numbers it can’t be are 23,53 and 13.

    Silver-
Jessica has the larger number which is 29 and its larger because its 2 more than 27.

    Gold-
Habib is right because the ones aren’t the column that’s changing the colum that is changing are the tens.

    Platium-
Isla is right because 7 lots of 10p add to 70p and if you add 32p to 70p it makes £1.02

    1. Mrs Browning

      Perfect answers, Shamsa.

    Silver:
Jessica has more as there are 27 ones in 27, and 20 ones + 9 ones = 29 ones
29 ones is more than 27 ones

    Gold:
Habib is right because 10 has 0 ones, so any number plus 10 will have the same number of ones

    Platinum:
    32p + 70p = 102p
there are 100p in £1, and 102p is bigger than 100p

    1. Mrs Browning

      Great work, Andrew!
