Year 2 PSHE ~ Our Community

This term in Year 2, we have learnt about communities.

In our lesson today, Year 2 learnt to share their ideas about how to improve our community.

What is a community?
A community is a word used for a group of people who have things in common. This could be the same school, area, activities they take part in or background.

There are also different types of community. For example:

  • Neighbourhood
  • Place of worship
  • Activities and clubs
  • School

Why are communities important?
Communities are important as they help us to connect with other people. Being a part of a community involves using a range of our BH values such as teamwork, communication, kindness, empathy and respect.

Answer the questions below:

Can you think of two different communities that you are a part of?
Why do you enjoy being a part of these communities and how does it make you feel?

    Two different communities are-
    Broad health community (Here i get education in all subject and having lot of friends) .
    Mosque community ( I learn Qur’an and have good time with my friends ).
    I feel good about these communities because I make lot of friends there and learn many things like how to share and be kind to everyone.

    I am part of broad heath and foshill . I enjoy being in these places and they make me feel happy

    I am part of the Masjid Tawfiq community where I learn my Quran and the 100th Coventry Muslim Scout group where I take part in activities and do lots of camps away from home.

    I enjoy having friends, sleeping in tents and having midnight feast.

    It makes me feel excited and sad as I miss my family when I am there.

    I am part of the Masjid Tawfiq community and the 100th Coventry Muslim Scout group

    I enjoy being part of the community as it makes me feel happy as I learn and enjoy reading. At scouts I enjoying taking part in activities especially at the field and Jamboree camps.

    I enjoy being part of them because we do things together play together swim with my friends and learning new things.
