We learnt about information texts and poetry last term, can you apply your knowledge to answer the questions below about the information text and poem?

Read the texts and then complete the challenges.

Challenge 1:

1. What does the word emit mean? (significiant, clever or give off)
2. Name 2 sources of light from this text.
3. What type of text is this? (information, poem or story)

Challenge 2: Read the knowledge organiser, then answer the questions.

    Light travels in a straight line.
    You see your reflection in the mirror
    Light reflect best on smooth, shiny and flat surfaces .
    It can hurt the eyes and damage the retina.

    1. A light source is then light bounce of the object.
    2. A forn of energy that travels in a source.
    3 if you didn’t have any sunglasses and you looked at the sun your eyes will hurt.
    4 A chair because if you switch the light oof it reflect.
    5 If you had a image and put it next to the mirror it will be the same.

    2. How does light travel?
    Light travels in a straight line.

    A mirror reflects light very well when you raise your right hand the opposite hand will show in the mirror

    4. What type of surface reflects light best?
    A mirror and a hiviz jacket reflects very well

    5. Why is it important to wear sunglasses with a UV rating?
    Because the pupil will let in the light and it will damage the retina

    3.Mirrors reflect light very well, so they create a clear image
    4.The best spot for the reflection is the mirror.
    5.Because if you don’t wear glasses that means it burn and hurt your eyes.

    2.Light travel in a straight line. Wen Light hits an object, it is reflected.
    3. Mirror reflect light ver well ,so they create a clear image .An image in a Mirror appears to be reversed. For example,if you look in a Mirror and raise your right hand, the Mirror image appears to raise it’s left hand.

    4.The surfaces that reflect light best are smooth,shiny and flat.
    5.The pupils control the amount of light entering the eyes.If too much light enters,then if can damage the retina. To help protect the eyes you can wear a hat with a wide brim and sunglasses with a UV rating.
