    The tens move to the hundred column and the one’s move to the ten column. The answer will have a 0 at the end.

    82 x 10 =820
    68 x 10 =680
    43 x 10 =430

    Silver

    6 X 100 =600cm
    2 x 100=200cm

    1m = 100cm
    Width = 6m
    Length = 2m

    The function machine which is incorrect is 0.15p x 100 = £1.50, the correct answer is £15.00.

    Gold

    43 x 5 =215
    36 x 4 =144
    74 X 5 =370

    234 x 6 =1,404
    Jack has the right answer becuase Sam didn’t add 2 to the 12 to make it 14.
    2 x 6 =12
    12 + 2 =14

    I noticed that the number gets 10 times bigger!
    82 times 10 =820 because you just add a zero with 82.
    68 times 10 = 680 because again you just add a zero .
    43 times 10= 430 because like Dexter said you just move 1 counter .
    ———————————————————————————————————.
    SILVER
    15 times 10 = 1.50
    —
    GOLD
    43 times 5 = 215 because 40 x5 = 200 3×5 =15. 200 +15 =215.
    36 times 4 =64 I know this because I did 6 4s that eaqul 24 so I Cary the 2 down the tens Colem then do 3 times 2 equals 64.
    74 times 5 = 140 because 4 times5 v20 so again carry your 2 down to the tens coulem then do 7 x 2 equals 14 so 14+10=140.

    Jack is correct because 1404 is the correct answer and Salman ‘s answer is Wong becaus 3×2 does not equal o .

    1. I notice that when you multiple by ten the ones place always has a place holder.
    2. 82 times 10 = 820
    3. 68 times 10 = 680
    4. 43 times 10 = 430

    Silver:
    1.
    The actual length of the room is 600 cm.
    The actual width of the room is 200 cm.
    To convert cm to meters ,100 cm=1 meters so, the length of the room is 6 meters and the width is 2 meters.
    2.
    15 pence times 10 =£1.50
    100 pence = 1 pound
    To make 1.50 pounds we need to times by 10 from 15 pounds.

    Gold:
    1.
    43* 10=215
    H=2 , T=1, O=5
    36*4= 144
    H=1, T=4,O=4
    72*5=370
    H=3,T=7,O=0

    Bronze Challenge:
    Dexter’s thinking is correct, because when he multiplies by 10 all the counters move one place to the left on a place value chart. In his in example 32 x 10 = 320. The 3 has moved from the ten’s column to the hundred’s column. The 2 has moved from the one’s column to the ten’s column and then a 0 is added to the end.

    1. 82 x 10 = 820
    2. 68 x 10 = 680
    3. 43×10 = 430

    Silver Challenge:
    The width of the room of the room is 6cm x 100 = 600cm
    The length of the room is 2cm x 100 = 200cm
    1m = 100cm
    So, the width of the room in metres = 600 divided by 100 = 6m
    The length of the room in metres = 200 divided 100 = 2m

    The 2nd function machine does not multiple by 100 because
    15p x 100 = 1500p but this would = £15 and not £1.50 because 1500 divided by 100 = £15

    Gold challenge:
    43 x 5 = 215
    36 x 4 = 144
    74 x 5 = 370

    Jack is correct because 234 x 6 = 1404
    Sam made a mistake because he forgot to add the remaining 2 on the hundred column.

    1. I noticed that when you multiply by 10 the number gets 10 times bigger for example 2×10 the number 2 gets 10 x bigger so that would be 20 . Also you can add a place holder as well and I know that the answers ones column will never be empty when you multiply by 10 because if it wasn’t then it would be simply wrong.
    2. 82 x 10=. To do 82 multiplied by 10 you just move the 82 1 TIME to the left and add a place holder to the ones column so your answer would be 820. 68 x 10 =. The answer is 680. I know this because when you multiply by 10 your number will get 10 times bigger.
    SILVER
    The answer is 16 meters . This is because the width which is 2 x 100 is 200 because when you multiply by 10 you move the number 1 TIME to the left so when you multiply by 100 you move the number 2 TIMES to the left and you add place holders to the tens and ones column and 200 is equal to 2 meters . Finally you need to multiply 6 by 100 which equals 600 because if you didn’t your answer would simply be wrong. So the answer is 600 which is equal to 6 meters and you finally multiply 6 by 2 which is 12 so it would be 12 meters .
    SILVER 2
    1the middle one because 100 times 15 pence is supposed to be 15 pounds.

    Bronze 82 × 10 =820 because 2 moved to the next collem would be 20 and 80 moved to the next collem would be 800
    68 × 10= 680 because 8 moved to the next collem would be 80 and 60 moved to the next collem would be 800
    43×10=430 because 3 moved to the next collem would be 30 and 40 moved to the next collem would be 400
    Silver
    The width of the room would be 2 meters because 2×100=200 and 200 cm = to 2 meters
    The length of the room will be 6 metres because 6×100=600 and 600 cm =to 6 meters
    It would be 30p because when you ×30 by 100 you add 2 zeros so the answer will be £300

    Silver:
    The 6m is like adding 100 which is 600 and It’s the same for 2m.
    All of them are correct expect the middle one because 15×10=1500 not 150.
    Gold:
    43×5=215
    36×4=144
    74×5=550
    Jack because he added the 200 whilst Sam didn’t.

    Dexter is correct because they do all move place forward.
    82×10=820
    68×10=680
    43×10=430
    Silver:
    The real length is 2m and the real width is 6m.
    The 3rd one because 30px10=£3.
    Gold:
    43×5=215
    36×4=144
    74×5=370
    Jack is correct because he added the 200 and Sam didn’t.

    I notice that the 2 ones gets times by the 10 and gets moved to the tens. And then, the 3 tens gets times by the tens
    too and gets moved to the hundreds.
    Silver:
    Length of the room: 6m
    Width of the room: 2m
    The second one is the answer because 15 times 100 = £15
    Gold:
    1. 43 times 5 = 215
    2. 36 times 4 = 144
    The first one is wrong because he should have put the 4 at the bottom and 2 the 2 at the top. And the second one is right
    3. 74 times 5 = 370

    I notice that 1×10=10 and 10×10=100 (and also 100×10=1000)
    1. 820
    2. 680
    3. 430
    Silver
    The length of the room is 6m and the width of the room is 2m.
    The middle one is wrong because
    3×100=300
    15×100=not 150 its 1500
    30×100=3000
    Gold
    43×5=215
    36×4=145
    74×5=370
    Jack is correct because he added the 200
