Eliza is correct because 8 of the shapes are yellow and the numerator is 8 and 4 of them are blue so if you add 4 to 8 then it will make 12 and the denominator is 12 so you put them in a fraction which is 8/12.

Elizah is correct because there are 12 altogether and 8 are shaded in yellow while the rest are not.
    GD/Platinum
I do not agree with tiny because when you go over 1 whole you represent it like this 1 1/4 1 2/4 1 3/4 and when it’s 1 4/4 do 2 because that means it’s 2 wholes then keep repeating.

    Platinum:
Tiny is incorrect because the numerator can’t be over the denominator. The numerator and denominator have to be the same to make a whole if the numerator is over the denominator the fraction is incorrect.

      Bronze:
      4/11 + 5/11 = 9/11
      5/6 +1/6 = 7/6
      3/8+3/8 = 6/8
      7/10 + 3/10 = 1 whole
      8/12 + 3/12 =5/12
      3/4 – 1/4 = 2/4

  27. Rustam M.

    Bronze
    4/11+5/11 =9/11
    5/6+1/6= 1 whole
    3/8+3/8=6/8
    7/10+3/10=2 whole

  28. Eliza H.

    Bronze:
    1.4/11+5/11=9/11
    2. 5/6 + 1/6 =6/6
    3. 3/8 + 3/8 =6/8
    4. 7/10 – 3/10=10/10
    5. 8/12 -3/12=11/12
    6. 3/4-1/4 =4/4
    Sliver:
    1.1/2=2/4
    2.1/12=2/24
    3.1/10=2/20
    4.1/8=2/16
    5.3/20=6/20
    6.1/6=2/12
    7.1/5=2/10
    8.1/4=4/16
    9.3/10=6/20
    10.1/3=4/12
    11.7/20=14/40
    12.3/8=6/16
    Gold:
Eliza is right because there are 12 in total and 8 are circles
    Platinum:
Tiny is incorrect because the numerator and the denominator have to match to make a whole number. tiny’s improper fractions have a whole number with fractions.

  29. Khadijah M.

    Bronze Challenge:
    1) 4/11 + 5/11=9/11.
    2) 5/6 + 1/6=6/6 Which is equivalent to 1 whole.
    3) 3/8 + 3/8=6/8.
    4) 7/10 – 3/10=4/10
    5) 8/12 – 3/12=5/12
    6) 3/4 – 1/4=2/4 Which is also equivalent to 2 quarters.
When adding and taking away in fractions, the numerator changes however the denominator stays the same as it was before.
    Silver Challenge:
    1) 1/2=2/4.
    2) 1/12=2/24.
    3) 1/10=2/20.
    4) 1/8=2/16.
    5) 3/20=60/40.
    6) 1/6=2/12.
    7) 1/5=2/10.
    8) 1/4=4/16.
    9) 3/10=6/20.
    10) 1/3=4/12.
    11) 7/20=14/40.
    12) 3/8=6/16.
I notice a pattern where the numbers are in the same times tables.
    Gold Challenge:
Eliza is correct because, there are a total of 12 shapes and 8 are shaded in yellow out of the 12, so the fraction would be 8/12 but it could not be 3/5 because 3 aren’t shaded and there aren’t 5 shapes in total.
    Platinum Challenge:
I agree with Tiny because, 6/4=3 and 7/4=4. The reason for this is, as a proper fraction this should be the answer but as a improper fraction it would be 6/4 and 7/4.

      4/11+5/11=9/11

    2. 1/12=2/24
    3. 1/10=2/20
    4. 1/8=2/16
    5. 3/20=60/40

    10. 1/3=4/12
    11. 7/20=14/40
    12. 3/8=6/16
    Gold
Eliza is correct because there are 8 shapes shaded yellow out of 12 shapes in total.
