Year 5 Homework Spring 1 Week 4

Hi Year 5, here is your homework for this week.

Select two pieces of homework to complete and log into Spelling Shed and practise your spelling words.

Homework should be a celebration of your learning and should reflect your full effort and ability. Homework is also a brilliant opportunity to discover more and take time to produce a piece of work you are truly proud of. The best efforts could even be sent to Mr Andrews when he calls for good work.

Homework MUST be completed and brought into school on WEDNESDAY at the latest. This includes your spellings.

Children, question 3 and question 5 will require long division, but you have not been taught that! Please ignore them.

    Try these instead:
    3. How many tables are needed to seat 237 people when the tables seat 6 people each?
    5. The teacher gives out 423 sweets. The children are given 8 each. How many sweets does the teacher give out? Does she have any leftover?

I need help on question 5 and 6 in maths

    1. Mrs Khan

      Muhammad,

Question 5) You need to do 423 divide by 16 which will tell you how many children. You will have a remainder though which will be the children that got sweets but not 16.

Question 6) Again you need to divide 60 by 12.99 and will have a remainder.

Let me know on Monday if your still struggling.
