4 Blue are Becoming Biographers

This week we started our new unit in English, focused on biographies. We had a look at some existing biographical texts to help us identify the key features, then analysed their structural and grammatical elements.

We also did some research on Rudyard Kipling, the author of The Jungle Book, so that we can write our own biography about him. We found out lots of interesting information about Kipling’s life and his career as a writer.

    What is the most interesting thing you found out about Rudyard Kipling?
    He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907. The Disney film, The Jungle Book, is loosely based on Kipling’s collection of short stories of the same name. He was named after the Rudyard lake in England. Kipling remains the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
