This week, 5 Blue have learnt more about the short and tragic life of Lady Jane Grey.
To make enquiries.
To begin the learning, the children had a video shared with them including clues. Only one child in our class was able to work out who we were learning about using sing these clues alone. Children were given time using the internet and the clues to work out who it was.
To understand who Lady Jane Grey was and who her family were.
The children explored the Tudor family tree and created some explaining how Lady Jane Grey was connected to Edward VI.

➖her parents were very strict Protestants which caused Lady Jane Grey to be one too.
➖Queen Mary I ordered her, her husband and her supporters/advisers to be executed.
I have chosen the Tudor monarch ‘King Henry VIII’.

She and Henry were never suppose to be a monarch.

They were not brought up to be a King or Queen.
Before both of their coronations they stayed at the royal area if the Tower of London for the night.

DIFFERENCES
She was executed while Henry died if health issues.
She died at 17 while Henry died aged 55.
She only reigned for nine days however Henry reigned for 36 years.
Lady Jane only got married once , but King Henry VIII got married 6 times.
King Henry had 3 children while Lady Jane Grey had none.

Edward VI wrote his will, nominating Jane and her male heirs as successors to the Crown, in part because his half-sister Mary was Catholic, while Jane was a committed Protestant. The events took over her life because she had a short reign for only nine days and was only seventeen when she died.

Three things I know about Lady Jane Grey is that she was married to Gillford Dudley and that she reluctantly went onto the throne and her and Edward were the most educated monarchs during that time. The key event that affected her life was the day of her coronation and the day she found out about Edward`s will and death.
