HOW DO FLOWERING PLANTS REPRODUCE?

For this term in Science, Year 5 have started a new unit of โ€˜Living thingsโ€™. Firstly, we looked at the reproductive process of a flower. We looked at Runners, Corms, Turbers and Bulbs and the process they take to make new stems. We then looked at the parts that make a flower. Can you remember the parts?

We labelled a flower diagram and then we explored a flowering plant by dissecting a Daffodil. Take a look at the pictures below.

    1. The ten parts of a flower is petal, stem, pollen, seeds, roots, anther, filament, style, receptacle and finally stigma.
    2. Stigma means its a special adaption portion of the pistil.
    3. stamen -Stamens are the male reproductive organs of flowering plants.
