5 White week 6 homework

Mr Kane

5 White have had another incredible week gaining and working hard. 1960’s day was a real highlight and the children’s engagement was brilliant. In english we are nearly ready to publish our amazing alien stories and in maths we have been using our knowledge of rounding to help us estimate and approximate.

The children have also produced some beautiful artwork to bring our pop art unit to an end.

The classroom has recently had a new addition courtesy of Mrs Habib and added to by the children in the form of a beautiful display around motivation and values. It is my hope that this will be added to throughout the year.

Therefore my challenge this week is for 5 white to…

  1. Produce a definition for intrinsic motivation.
  2. Produce a definition for extrinsic motivation.
  3. Pick 1 of our school values that means the most to you. Write a definition and a few lines about why it is important to you and where you’ve needed to use it.

    Intrinsic motivation: the doing of an activity for its inherent satisfaction rather than for some separable consequence.
    Extrinsic motivation: involves completing a task or exhibiting a behavior because of outside causes such as avoiding punishment or receiving a reward.

    I think teamwork. I use it when we do projects as a team. It is important to use it as the whole team can gain more knowledge from the others.

    3. Resilience is the school value that means most to me because if you be resilient you might get the question right or you may improve. I also use resilience when I’m outside of school, when I’m playing clubs.

    Tenacity means the most to me. It is important to me because we should never give up and always think positive.I have used tenacity on a arethmetic test and scored a good score.

    2. A definition for extrinsic motivation is essential nature of someone or something coming or operating from outside.
    3. Respect. Respect means always treating people the same way you want to be treated. It’s important because some people don’t like when people don’t respect them. I’ve used it when my cousin was upset and I treated the same way I would want to be treated if I was sad.

    Extrinsic motivation -is reward-driven behaviour. In extrinsic motivation, rewards or other incentives — like praise, fame, or money.
    Imagination means creative ideas and minds eye. It is important for me or someone else to use it because if me or they are writing a story, it would catch the readers attention and I have had to use it in my drawings for it to look nice.

    I have needed to use this in P.E.. I used it by catching and chest passing. It is important to me because it pushes me to do things i like.
