6 Red – Making Sushi!

This term in food technology, our design brief was to design and create a healthy Japanese maki sushi roll.  Today, we made traditional sushi with the help of Misa.

What precautions did you had to take while making sushi?

    I enjoyed making the sushi.However,it tasted worse than it looks.The rice was sour and the mix of carrots,nori and sushi rice was not nice.

    I loved making the sushi! I was looking forward to eating it but the smell of the vinegar in the rice made me not want to eat the sushi. In my opinion, I didn’t like the sushi because the sticky, vinegar rice and the nori wasn’t that tasty but I enjoyed making it.

    What precautions did you had to take while making sushi?
    We had to make sure our hands were hygienic as well as the ingredients, we also had to be aware what we had to do (watched video) to make sure we could create it properly. The final product was appealing but did not meet the standards yet the process of making was really fun.

    In my opinion I wasn’t a fan of the taste of the sushi as I don’t really like vinegar and salt rice and the seaweed, I didn’t like very much. But as well it was very fun making the roll and putting our ingredients onto our roll.
