Year 4 Maths Challenge Autumn 2

Hi Year 4,

This half term in topic we have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons. I was wondering if you could complete some Anglo-Saxon based maths problems?

Bronze

Put each kings reign in chronological order. You will need your knowledge of place value to work this out.

Who came first and how do you know?

Who was last and how do you know?

Silver

Put the kings in order starting with the king with the longest reign and ending with the king with the shortest reign.

Gold

A king was usually succeeded by their sons. Using the information from the table who was likely to have been Alfred the Great’s son. How do you know?

    1.Ethelwulf was bigining the batel.
    2.Harold 2 was the bigin fiting last.

    1.Alfred the Great 28 year. 2.Edward the elder 25 years. 3.Edward 3 24 years. 4.Ethelwulf 16 years . 5.Edwy 4 years. 6.Harold 2 9months.

    Gold.
    1.Harold 2 was scared fiting because he was scared of his dad thats why he was fiting 9 months.

    Harold II

    Ethelwulf came first because his reign date was the earliest.
    Harold II came last because his reign date was the latest.

    Ethelwulf came first his reign began in year 839.
    Harold II was last because his reign
    began in January 1066.

    Edward the elder 25 years
    Edward III 24 years
    Ethelwulf 17 years
    edwy 4years
    Harold II 10 months
