As part of our new English unit this term, Year 2 will be learning about traditional tales.
A traditional tale is a story based on a tradition, usually fiction. They can be entertaining and fun to read, but are also different in many ways as well as similar.
Here are some examples of tradition tales…
Think about how they are the same, as well as different.
Which one is your favourite, and why?
Think about the setting, the characters and how it makes you feel.
For example; “My favourite traditional tale is The Ugly Duckling because it teaches us to be kind and accept others for the way they are”.
It includes a problem and solution and has a happy ending.
Look at the features of a traditional tale. Can you spot these in some of your classic favourites?
