In Science this term, children’s learning is based on Sound.
Learning all about how sound is made, how others are able to hear it and how it travels through the different areas of the ear.
This week, the focus was on how we can change the sound we make by exploring different sounds and measuring how loud it is. We made noises such as: clap, stomping on the ground, talking, laughing and dropping a book on both a table and floor.
This was measured using a software, which detects the volume of sound.
We then conducted an experiment where hitting a cup with different amounts of water, created different sounds.
What is the name of the unit which measures the volume of sound?
