I think the man in the picture is an explorer because of the way he dressed and he crashed his ship and he might have survived and he is not giving up.

We have had to practise specific times tables, that we have each identified are tricky for us.
We have had to practise our times tables skills while learning fractions. I have had to use different pictorial methods.
We have ALL contributed to our class TTRS battle Vs. Year 3 (By the way, we are ready to wipe the floor with them!)
We have made great progress in our times tables because we have shown tenacity and resilience.

3 White have persevered with x tables because they have not given up. They have developed strategies and they have been perserving during a TTRS battle against year 4. Year 3 were behind last week but over the weekend we persevered and took the lead.

As a class we discussed how some of us found times tables tricky when we came to year 3. We have shown resilience and practised as much as we could. When we have found it tricky we have used different techniques to help us. The following have helped us monitor our progress and to keep going:
Amirah: TTRS has motivated me to do better. Seeing my score get better has pushed me to try and get better and better. The competition with year 4 has made me want to be beat them. We are currently in the lead!
Mustafa- Maths songs has helped me. If I found the times tables tricky the song would cheer me up. I liked listening to them and this helped me learn and keep going.
Arfa- I have been encouraged by adults both at home and at school. This has made me want to make them even prouder so I carry on learning even if it is tricky.
Zaynab- By listening to adult advice has helped and pushed me.
Zayd- I love our Times Table Olympics and we all want to win. This has pushed us to keep try and learning. I am nearly at the top and I want the prize!
