Today your children will be bringing home their FREE book bag which will contain their picture reading book and a reading diary. It is important that you take time to look at the picture book together and allow your child to talk about what they see in the book. You can use open ended questions to help your child extend their sentences. Please comment and sign in the reading diary to show that you are reading with your child daily. Please look after the book your child will be bringing home and make sure you are bringing it into school with your child every day. There will be a charge to replace any lost, missing or damaged books.
Reading For Pleasure
It is important that you continue to read a range of story books with your child everyday. Reading for pleasure has a positive correlation between children’s engagements and reading attainment. Here is a link to a short video on the importance of reading to your child.
