Marvellous Day of Learning in 4W – World Book Day

In Year 4 the children have had a fabulous day dressing up as their favourite characters for World Book Day. The book the children focused on was George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. They started the day learning a few facts about Dahl and his books. They read an extract from the story when George creates his own medicine. The children had the opportunity to create their own medicine and write a diary entry. They went onto to read and infer why grandma was mean and wrote a character description of what she would have been like when she was younger. Alongside this the children created pop art using onomatopoeia which they enjoyed.
A jam packed day learning and enjoying World Book Day.

You look like you had a fantastic day 4 White! Some super diary entries and great descriptions of what granny might have looked like as a girl! Your marvellous medicine looks horrid 🤢. I’m just a bit worried that you might try feeding it to me!

What new skills did you learn today?
