Maths Project Week Fun

Project week: Maths

Children have been learning about shapes and angles all week!
The activities below are some ways how:

Children learnt about the characteristics and properties of a triangle. They drew around 2D triangles.

Using straws, children created various types of triangles.

Above, children created a fan-like model, to help them understand and visually see the angles of items around them. This is demonstrated in the pictures below.

Children began to understand angles. This activity was to order the different angles smallest to biggest.

As children got comfortable with different types of shapes and their properties, they were asked to demonstrate the shapes using rubber bands on a geometry board, to guess the shape they had by their classmates describing the properties and finally creating a poster on their shape.

Well done for an excellent project week everyone! You have learnt so much in only a week!
Enjoy your half term – Miss Begum 😊

Name 3 different types of triangles.

What is an acute, obtuse and reflex angle?

What quadrilaterals can you name? Can you tell me their properties?
