Today Year 3 spent a day in the life of a Roman. They practiced a variety of activities today including counting in Roman numerals, a round robin of activities including archery, javelin and marching like Roman soldiers. Children also learnt all about Queen Boudicca and her fearless and brave personality, they then performed as Boudicca in pairs exploring feelings, emotions and reasons for fighting. This day also meant that children had the opportunity to experience spa life in Roman days which lucky rich Romans had easy access to and this included a massage, hand and feet soak, carrots for good eyesight and washing hands with luxury olive oil. Year 3 also compared and contrasted between Roman entertainment and modern forms of entertainment including chariot racing and playing video games. Moreover, children danced an army formation across the year group which was splendid to be a part of. Make sure you all watch the blog and do leave a comment 👍
