I think people should not edit Road dales books because she made the books and people enjoy her stories and read them like popular books can’t be changed especially Matilda we all have at least 1 of her books you like so we should not edit the books it makes a whole difference to the book or movie I think it would be ok if people just don’t watch it or read it if they don’t like the book or movie and the others who like it should so we should not edit the books or movie . Also the people who like the books will be sad because they can’t watch it ever again but the people that don’t get their way.so I think it is not okay if they edit the books people like his books they are popular and are good stories that makes sense.

I think some Roald dhal books shouldn’t be here because some have words that people think is about them selfs and get offended, some other people think roald dhal books should stay because they think they have read all roald dhal books but they haven’t and they just don’t read books that are rude to them because of the cover🎒

I think that Roald Dahl’s books are fantastic so I don’t think tha5 you need to edit them especially if Roald Dahl is not around he can’t tell you if he wants to change his books 📚.
If Roald Dahl was around and he said that he wants to change his books to make people more happier then I would rath3r prefer that we do change some of Roald Dahls books 📖.

I don’t think they offend because in my class we read Roald Dahl books and it did not offend.
So I don’t think that Roald Dahl’s books offend .

I don’t think people should edit Roald Dahl’s books because his books are really funny and people are changing his books because they think it’s offending them but I don’t think it offends me because al, his books are really good and interesting so it offends other people.

I think it is bad to edit peoples books because the editors might add bad,offensive words and it’s rude because he is a very kind author.
People should respect him because he wrote very nice books for everybody to read.

I think that people shouldn’t edit Ronald Dahl’s books. Since he is unfortunately not around anymore, he is unable to talk about how he feels. Another reason is, the characters he is describing is fictional, so it is no real. It may not offend anybody. After having a discussion with my class, we agreed that if they edit they should make it clear and put a label on it to be sure it is not the original.

We had a good discussion in 1R. Most children in 1R thought the books should stay as they are because those are the words that Roald Dahl wrote so should not be changed and they are old books. Some children thought that some words should be changed as we don’t want people to be upset when they are reading his books.

In 4 Blue, we discussed how this was a very complicated issue with lots of different sides to consider. We could understand why some of the language Dahl used could be considered unkind, but some of us didn’t think he meant to be offensive when he wrote his stories and that not everyone would be upset by the words. Some children said it isn’t right to change Roald Dahl’s words, especially because he has died and can’t say how he feels about it. Others thought that there needed to be a good reason to change the book, such as lots of people complaining about the language used. We decided that a good compromise would be to publish the altered version with a clear label on the cover to show they have been edited, and also keep the original version available for people that want it.

In one white we had a split decision. 8 children thought that the books should be changed because it is unkind hurt people’s feelings. the rest of the class thought because the books are old we shouldn’t change them, because we would like our books to stay the same.

My opinions on this are, people can laugh at Ronald Dahl jokes or words but other don’t laugh they can find it sad or they don’t understand what Ronald Dahl saying.

I do not read many Roald Dahl books but I do not think of them as offensive books that may hurt people feelings rather the books make me laugh whenever I read Roald Dahl books or someone reads it to me.
