This term, we have been very fortunate to have Sky Blues in the Community here at Broad Heath. They’ve been delivering a range of projects, not just football clubs at lunchtime and before school, but also PSHE and active maths lessons. In the PSHE sessions known as “joy of Movement” pupils have been learning to make healthy choices, both in terms of their diet and exercise. In the active maths sessions pupils in year 5 have been taking part in football related arithmetic challenges, including rounding up and down attendances and working out times of games. In addition to all of this, they have been running an after school girls football club which has been incredibly successful, with 25 girls every week from year 5 and 6 eagerly taking part. Big thanks go to Ben, Kier and Harry for delivering the sessions and of course the pupils for their energy, enthusiasm and effort!
