Swimming Autumn Term

In Autumn, year 6 have been working hard on achieving their 25 meter distance in their range of strokes. We have practiced our front and back crawl to work on our stamina in order to achieve this goal.

In year 5 we have been developing our swimming strokes further, with a particular emphasis on breaststroke.

All of the children in year 5 have made progress. Some have been able to swim a full length of breaststroke, using arms and legs others have been able to perfect arms or legs but all have substantially increased their confidence in the water.

This term in year 4 we have been focussing onย swimmingย on our backs. We have had some children developing with a float, some children with a float in outstretched arms and some children developing backstroke without buoyancy aids.ย

In year 3 we have been working on water confidence as well as beginning to float. We have then built on this floating to move through the water with the aid of floats.
