We are all unique

Today in PSHE we focused on understanding that we are all unique.

The lesson was based around Blue Penguin – who amongst his peers, was the odd one out, in colour. Initially Blue Penguin felt alone, sad and heartbroken as those around him believed he was different. Over time, he was accepted and loved for who he was; they all became friends.

The moral of this story is: it does not matter what we look like, what matters is what is in the inside.

Children have discussed how Blue Penguin must have initially felt, and why that was a problem. They also discussed what makes them similar and different amongst one and another.

Question to answer: If you noticed someone felt left out, how would you help them?

I would ask them if they were ok, if they were not I would try and help them by telling a teacher or asking them if they would like to come and play.

I would tell them to be my friend!

  3. Faris B.

I would talk to them and ask if they wanted to play a game with me.
