Today year 1 had a brilliant well being day, here are some of the things they got up to.

Swimming

The students from year 1 have again took to the water like ducklings. They have practiced safe entry and exits, skills such as blowing bubbles through their mouth and noes, and practicing moving different directions playing games. Students had an excellent time and all gained!

Team Building!

With Miss Matthias in 1White all 3 classes played games to build on their teamwork skills! Setting up jenga can be a challenge with wobbly tables! It was lovely to see the children have time to focus on how to be a team player by waiting for their turns and not cheating.

Christmas cards

Today, as part of well-being day. The children in year 1 created some wonderful Christmas cards. We first discussed who started the tradition of sending out Christmas cards and looked at different styles and how they have changed over the years. We then looked closely at the Christmas tree in our class and described what we could see. The children used their creative skills to decorate a Christmas tree to put on the front of their card.

Challenge
Why is Christmas celebrated?

Bring in to win a prize from Mrs Shergill.
