Hi Year 3.

In Summer 2 we are going to be sharing the stories of Paddington by the author Michael Bond. Please read the extract below from the story ‘A Bear called Paddington.’

    leave one’s own country in order to settle permanently in another country

    Retired:
    If someone is retired, they have stopped working permanently

    Stowaway:
    someone who hides on a ship, airplane, etc., in order to travel without paying or being seen. A stowaway was discovered on the ship.

    I predict that the browns will take him home and Paddington will live with them.

    3. Paddington is worried because he does not have a place to stay in and does not have much food to eat so he will be starving.

    I predict that Mr Brown will take him to a café to eat scrumptious, delicious food and then Mrs Brown asked Mr Brown if they could take Paddington home and give him a bath because there was cream and jam all over him because of the cream and jam cake from the café. Mr Brown didn’t want to but was convinced by Mrs Brown.

    Paddington was worried because he might be unsafe in Paddington Station and the Browns might not take him home with them.

    SILVER:
    Retired means to cease a job.
    A stowaway is something that stows away sneakily.
    When your battered your injured repeatedly.
    To emigrate you leave a country in order to settle permanently.
    A glimpse is a momentary or partial view.

    GOLD:
    I think the Browns are going to take him home and Paddington is going to cause a lot of chaos and do sone crazy things at home.

    On paddingtons suit it said Wanted on Voyage.
    Tow adjectives on page 5 are proudly and simply.
    Paddingtons maybe worried because he’s running out of food and has nowhere to go.

    Retired – Worked really really hard and needs a rest in life.

    Stowaway-A person that hides on a vehicle to get a free ride.

    Battered-Bruised.

    Emigrate-When you move a abroad.

    Glimpse-When you get a little look.

    I think Paddington is going to get a home because in the text it says “can’t he stay with for a few days.” and that means he could stay with them for longer so he could get a home.

    On Paddington’s sutecace it says wanted voyige . And adverbs are proudly and peadingly . Paddington was worried because bears like marmalade and the jar was almost finished

      Spelling used from the text should be spelt correctly. Also, this is not enough for a piece of homework. Similar to your Maths, this wouldn’t have been acceptable amount of work in school.
