    The athlete ran for 547,500m. I got the answer by timing 365 × 1,500 = 547,500m. I got the 365 from year because it has 365 days. The km is 547.5 . I got the answer by dividing 547,500 ÷ 1,000 = 547.5 km.

If the first Olympic games began in 776 BC and the modern games began in 1896, how long was it before the original games were modernised? (Remember there are 776 years until AD or CE years start).

    It could take 1503 years

If an Olympic athlete runs 1500m every day for a year, how far has he run? Answer in metres and Km.

    It takes 547500 metres

    Ancient Greeks Mathematicians
    —————————————————————-
There were many many tales and stories about different things that happened in Ancient Greece but , I will talk about maths .
    Enjoy :]
    Archimedes:
Archimedes was the founder of maths and also known as, the father of maths because he contributed and developed maths and his skills so he is the current father of maths .
    Pythagoras
Pythagoras first discovery was that” the square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides.”
Hypotenuse = the longest side of the right – angled triangle/ Side opposite the right angle.

    Start with a2 + b2 = c2

    Put in what we know 4°2 + 12°2 =c2

    Calculate squares: 8 + 144=c2

    8+144=162

    Swap side.c2=162

Square root of both sides: c = √162

    Calculate: c=12

Ancient Greece was a northeastern Mediterranean civilization, existing from the Greek Dark Ages of the 12th–9th centuries BC to the end of classical antiquity, that comprised a loose collection of culturally and linguistically related city-states and other territories.
    Features
The main physical geographic features of Ancient Greece included mountains, islands, and the sea. The mountains of Ancient Greece separated people geographically. Due to this separation, Greek city-states tended to be isolated from one another. This meant that societies grew and developed independently.
Greek mathematics refers to mathematics texts and ideas stemming from the Archaic through the Hellenistic and Roman periods, mostly attested from the late 7th century BC to the 6th century AD, around the shores of the Mediterranean. What did the ancient Greeks do for math?

It employed the vertical stroke for a one, and symbols for “5″, “10″, “100″, “1000″, and “10,000″.
How did the Greeks change math?
Influenced initially by the Egyptians, Greek mathematicians would push on to make breakthroughs such as Pythagoras’ theory of right-angled triangles and, by focussing on the abstract, bring clarity and precision to age-old mathematical problems
