Year 6 – Spanish Cuisine and Spanish influences on British Cuisine.

Today, could you please research Spanish foods and recipes and record on this blog please.

Think about what the Spanish Specialities are? What Spanish foods are well known across the world? Which meal is the most important one of the day? How do they celebrate Christmas and what food is traditionally eaten during the festive period?

You could also add information about the Spanish influences on British cuisine after research!

    A churro is a type of fried dough from a Spanish cuisine. It is known that it is quite popular in the USA. It is also a type of snack. The temperature is often hot. They are also crispy on the inside but tender on the outside. They also taste like cinnamon donuts. In a churro, there is 116 calories.

    A type of dish that Spanish people eat on Christmas is a dish called Turrón. It is a type of Spanish nougat.It is usually made of honey, sugar, white egg and with toasted almonds or other nuts.

    Some Spanish specialties may include: paella, gazpacho, tortilla Español, tapas, turrón, Ajo blanco, and natillas. There are many differing foods in Spain, yet (possibly) the most famous of all of them, is ‘paella’. I say breakfast is the most important, as it’s what starts the day, and the start usually determines the rest of the day. Before Christmas itself, they use lights to illuminate cities at the end of November, and there are 3 main food, these include: lamb, seafood, and cold meat.

    The Spanish that is well known is chorizo.

    The first recipe I had found was gazpacho, this dish is a delicious meal, gazpacho is atomato soup which originated from Spain .

    There are many famous foods such as paella,jamon,tortilla.
    As a traditional dish on Christmas they eat paella valencia and for their dessert they celebrate with some warm chocolatey churros.
