3W Early Settlers Day

To end our unit on Early Settlers, Year 3 celebrated with a whole day of learning about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.

They had the opportunity to:
*solve Stone Age weapon maths puzzles
*read about Iron Age life
*cook bread on an open fire
*learn about hill forts
*make stone age tools out of soap
*make cave paintings
*weave materials (a skill people would have needed for clothes and building)

Please take a look at a snapshot of their learning throughout the day.

  1. What was your favourite piece of learning?
  2. What new things did you discover?

My favourite part of the day was when Mr Carter lit wood with fire.
I discovered how the Stone Age people communicated, they used sign language. I also found out that when the weavers are put in the ground you have to get water and animal poo and rub it on to make it strong.
