This half term the children have been assigned the following design brief:

To design a theatre for Year 5 to perform their Macbeth assembly.

In week 1, we learnt sbout the festures of a theatre. We looked at theatres in Shakespearean times and made comparisons to modern day theatres.

In week 2, we explored different frame structures.
which shapes are strong? What top tips were we given in order to build stable structures?

We used blue tac and cocktail sticks to build various 3D shapes in teams.

Next week we will be designing our theatres. Which features will you include? how will you go about building it?

    1. The shape that is strong are squares.

    We’re going to build it step my step and we need it to be a strong base We will be using lolly pop sticks hot glue and other stuff. Trying different ways to make a good theatre. Triangles we know are stronger but if they don’t work use circles
