About the team we are recruiting to

The Governor Support Service are looking for people to attend school governing board meetings and take formal minutes.  The majority of the meetings are outside of normal office hours.

What is the job role?

There are 2 positions available on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2024:

1.   22.5 hours Monday to Friday (term-time only plus 2 weeks)                                                  Pro-rated salary £12,407 – £14,351 

2.   15 hours Monday to Friday (term-time only plus 2 weeks)                                                    Pro-rated salary £8,271 – £9,567 

As Clerk to the Governors, for a number of named schools, you will attend governors’ meetings and take minutes of the proceedings. You will also be responsible for the provision of support and detailed guidance to enable the governing boards to act effectively and legally, giving advice to the chair and governors on a wide range of governance matters to aid school improvement. We are looking for an excellent communicator, administrator and team player, with an ability to offer advice and produce accurate minutes electronically.

Who are we looking for?

An excellent administrator and minute taker, enthusiastic and motivated Clerk to the Governors is required to join our friendly, highly valued team to support the delivery of effective governance of schools within Coventry and beyond.

It is desirable that the successful candidate has a clean, full driving licence and access to a car.

The post holder will be expected to attend meetings at schools across Coventry and Warwickshire on a daily basis.
