In 5 White, we discussed the good aspects and poor aspects of fireworks. We also spoke about compromise – perhaps allowing only public displays rather than individuals being allowed to set their own off.

In my opinion it will be a pop and it will be nice and scary but it is good. And they are banned because of Covid and it is not good I want fireworks.

In my opinion, I think that we should not ban fireworks as many people enjoy them. If we use fireworks, we should do it in a place where animals aren’t harmed or disturbed due to the noise.

We could make different fire works just for pets and we could watch the rest but I wouldn’t want to ban fireworks as it symbolises a part of nature

I think they should ban fireworks. This is because some animals suffer to them and it’s bad. It’s so sad that if any animal suffers about fireworks or more. If an animal dies because of a firework, it would be so sad.

No I don’t think they should be banned because people enjoy fireworks and if they scare animals we can make sure that they are a safe distance away from the fireworks😄.

Don’t ban because people will be unhappy if we don’t have fireworks .
But instead we can keep our pets somewhere that they can’t hear the fireworks and then we can have fun with fireworks!.

I think we should not ban fireworks because all the events with fireworks will be cancelled and people will be upset.
We can use fireworks but not in places with animals or it will scare them.

No because if people like fireworks they will be sad.
But if people don’t like it it wouldn’t hurt them to try and experience fireworks.

I think it is a bit of both because it is is good for celebration and it is colourful but also no it can give people and animal heart attack ,headache and also making you sleep late.

Hamsia and Amirah: We think that fireworks should be banned because it scares animals a lot and humans might get scared. Animals that are small, such as kittens get startled. It scares babies too. They are too loud. We think fireworks should be banned.
Zayd:I think fireworks should not be banned because on special days people will know.

In one white we had mixed opinions.
some children thought that the fireworks should be band because they are scary and loud and they don’t like the sound. Other children thought that the fireworks shouldn’t be banned because they are beautiful and help people to celebrate.

Yes Mrs Frankish I would attend because I did go to some fireworks on bonfire night but when I got home and saw my cat Simba was scared from the loud bangs I felt sorry for him but some people are scared of fireworks and maybe some fireworks can be quiet and everyone can be quiet

Thank you for your opinion, what about people who enjoy this evening and going out and meeting others? A few years ago everyone used to come to BH to watch fireworks, would you have attended?

In year 1 Red we debated the pros/cons of fireworks. Some students said they enjoyed fireworks (Amaal, Oscar, James) and others said they didn’t like them because they woke them up (Olivia, Martina and Abdulkafi). We voted, 10 agreed to ban fireworks whilst 20 voted to keep them, so as a class we decided not to ban fireworks.
